Game Recap

For the 6th time this season, Mt. Vernon went 5 sets with their opponent. This time is was Conference and County rival New Palestine. In the 5th set, Mt. Vernon jumped out to a 9-0 lead but saw that lead evaporate as the Lady Marauders held on to earn the W 15-13. Victoria Bulmahn led the offense with 22 kills joined in double digits by Claire Ertel and Sarah Herman with 13 kills apiece. The defense was anchored by Grace Hurst’s 31 digs and a strong effort from Claire Ertel with 20. Victoria Bulmahn and Olivia Yeley had career highs with their Blocks as Victoria had 9, and Olivia Yeley had 7 in the win. Meridan Eads set the table for her hitters with a season high 35 assists.
Mt. Vernon returns to action Saturday at the Bishop Chatard tournament. The Lady Marauders will open tournament action against Bishop Luers of Ft. Wayne at 10am
