Greenfield Central Jr High School
Tuesday night, the Marauders traveled down Fortville Pike to pay a visit to, their county & conference rival, the Greenfield Central Cougars. As the “A” game tipped off, MV quickly established their more physical presence by overpowering the Cougars with defensive pressure, altering many shots, & rebounding well. Bryan Heard lead the defensive attack by collecting a game high 8 steals, while Kiryn Dahl pulled down 8 rebounds.
Offensively for the Marauders, Cam Lusby had another hot shooting game, knocking down three three-pointers, on his way to a game high 15 points. Drew Walker splashed two threes of his own & had 10 points. The final score was not as indicative as the Marauder domination could have been, as MV missed several great shot opportunities. But, nevertheless, the Marauders got their first conference victory by a score of 43-20 & improving to a 5-1 record.
In “B” Squad action, the Marauders came out ready to tame the Cougars quickly as they picked right up where the “A” team left off. The MV defensive attack was intensely lead by Aden Cappelletti, who garnered 6 dominating steals. Cappelletti scored 18 points, which is also how many GC scored for the game. Cam Sullivan, coming off of a defensively-dominating personal performance against Heritage Christian, went right back to work against the Cougars collecting 5 steals & 9 points. Chauncey Agbor & Scott Lohman each had 6 rebounds, anchoring the defensive post.
With the Marauders winning 47-18, they improved their “B” Squad record to 4-1.
