Mt. Vernon High School - Fortville vs Centerville High School
2 3

MV travelled to the land of the fighting Eckers and came up just short in losing 2-3 to a solid #4 Centerville team that returned all 7 players 2-3 in a tightly contested match at the Brandon Ecker Memorial courts.

#2 dubs Jackson Dunlavy/Dallas Turner bounced back and played MV style dubs in dominating their match winning 6-2,6-0 and showing the type of team they can be moving forward.

#3 Reece Powell was fantastic winning 6-2,6-3 and was in control the whole match. Reece has embraced the change and has been the smartest player out there.

#1 singles Haiden Rose continues to improve and has a inner burning in his soul to get good and not be a crawdad catcher. Haiden lost 4-6 2-6 to very solid all year long player.

#2s Chris Hays had his worst match of the year and his 1st loss 4-6 2-6 but was off all night. Chris will bounce back he is very athletic, lefty and needs to not make the unforced errors.

#1d Justin Lemke/Joe Bowsher lost 3-6,2-6…they were up 3-0 to start the match and then made a few mistakes and Centerville pounced and got the momentum and energy and controlled the rest of the match.

JV was awesome winning 4-0 Mast/Koon singles and Griego/Leroy Jones/EBarr.

MV is off till Wednesday next week. MV is now 6-1 overall

MV coach Gabe Muterspaugh was UNAVAILABLE for comment.
