MV defeated Lawrence Central 9-4 Wednesday to move to 12-5 overall.

The Marauders got things moving in the second inning, when Dylan Cole homered on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Mt. Vernon tallied five runs in the fourth inning. Jackson Dunlavy, Thomas Obergfell, Cole Cain, and Dunlavy (again) all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Hunter Davis was credited with the victory for Marauders. He went three innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out five and walking one.

Payton Bovard and AJ Swingle entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

MV tallied two home runs on the day. Cole put one out in the second inning. Dunlavy went deep in the fourth inning.

The Marauders racked up 14 hits on the day. Obergfell, Cole, and Dunlavy all managed multiple hits with Obergfell leading the way with three hits in four at bats.
