The Freshman Marauders were able to take down the Eagles on Saturday night despite one of their fundamentally worst performances of the season.
Lack of defensive prowess and multiple unforced turnovers in the first half allowed the scrappy Eagles to hang around for the first nine minutes, but Drew Bucksot and Jayvion Jackson provided a spark off the bench in the closing minutes to give the Marauders a 13 point half time lead.
To begin the third, the Marauders were able to force a handful of turnovers themselves and in turn saw their lead grow to 24. The final MV line-up was unable to execute down the stretch and Delta cut it to 11 on several high-percentage attempts at the rim.
The 9th graders now sit at 16-2 on the season heading into Monday’s final game of the 2019-20 campaign. The Marauders will attempt to stay undefeated in the HHC as they welcome the Yorktown Tigers. Tip 6:00 PM in the main gymnasium.
