The Marauder Ladies competed very well in their first home meet of the season Tuesday night against Yorktown. Perhaps underestimating the Tigers, The Marauders elected to run several girls in atypical events in order to gain experience and get a great workout. Unfortunately, this came back to bite them in the end as Yorktown was able to put it away in the 4×400, winning the meet by 4 points.
Both teams competed well and it was awesome to see girls competing at Mt. Vernon after going 22 months without a home meet.

There are definitely points be be made up before HHC, but it was nice to have a home meet and get some of those uncharacteristic mistakes and jitters out of the way.
The JV team also had some great performances, some earning spots in the upcoming invitationals.
The Marauders will travel this Saturday to the always-competitive Patriot Challenge, hosted by Terre Haute North. Field Events 10:00, 4×8 and Trials 10:30, Finals 11:45.
