MV girls tennis wrapped up 3 points to seal the match within 1 hour of its match with Greenfield. The other 2 matches that lasted 2.75 hours were lost in close tight battles.
MV’s Lydia Ruegsegger continued her dominance at #1 singles this year with a 6-0,6-0 win and continuing to show she is an all state caliber player.
MV’s 2 dubs Anna Isger/Maddie Swingle also continued to stay undefeated with a 6-0,6-1
MV’s #1 dubs Lexi Shelton/Cici Buhlman won in quick fashion 6-2,6-3.
MV improves to 4-0 on the season and will be hosting the Hancock County tournament TODAY AT MV.
“Throughout the course of history, many have tried and failed to figure out the Lights on/lights off ability of the human competitor. It is a riddle wrapped inside of enigma while hoping to explode into the light. The protagonist in most stories has a tragic flaw and as coaches we are always trying to eliminate that tragic flaw. It can be fear, anxiety, scaredy pants, patty cake shots, fake knee hurt syndrome or just a plain a case of inertia issues involving the tarsals, metatarsals and clog hopping . If players cannot overcome these certain issues, we always look for the players that will.”
#1 Lydia was a smart/learning machine and that’s the way we like it! Isger/Swingle were dominant on a day that wasn’t their best. Shelton/Buhlman were solid…Isger and Buhlman are improving by leaps and bounds. IF we are going to win County we have to be better and stronger and smarter than tonight.” Coach Gabe
