MV had a good day Saturday finishing 3rd overall and had 2-Runners up.

MV’s Louisa Batge was once again outstanding winning her 1st 2 matches and lost in the finals to a very strong #3 from Northwestern, Louisa battled in the finals and really fought hard all day,

MV’s #2dubs Lexi Shelton/and Freshman Beth Hodgkin were runners up and went 2-1 losing to a very strong Marion 2 dubs. Extremely proud of both Lexi as a leader and Beth for stepping up as a freshman and really playing great.

MV’s #1 dubs Maeve Laughlin/Alexis Lane finished 3rd overall and lost to Northwestern in semi-finals. They are so close to becoming a top flight team if they correct a few minor things. They will get it done and once it happens watch out.

MV’s #1 Lydia Ruegsegger lost her 1st match of the day to an all-state player from Northwestern.. Lydia bounced back going 2-1 overall and didn’t drop a game the rest of the day.

MV’s #2 Kaleigh Helm won her 1st match and dropped her next 2 to finish 4th. Raleigh hopefully will bounce back and learn from the matches to keep improving all year.

1st–A huge thank you to asst. Coaches Kayla Negley and Dalton Albertin…they were awesome and a huge part of our success Also, sophmore Hannah Smith being the alternate all day. We expect her to be playing next yr in it.

“Good overall day. Not great and we should not be satisfied with 3rd place. We believed we could win and a few matches change we win the invite. Great competition overall. Louisa played as a Marauder tennis player should. #2 dubs Beth Hodgin her 1st varsity experience really stepped up..Only a freshman so the future is bright if she continues to work hard. Lexi did a great job of staying positive and leading. I expect that from her. I think Lydia learned a valuable lesson moving forward. She will use this to get better and better. Kaleigh played great 1st round and then had 2 tough matches. We need her best for us to have the success we want this year. Maeve and Alex are so close. I am excited to see how we compete this week” Coach Gabe
